Glad to share with you all the moment of joy, we, as IMTC Sunday School today. We won the first prize. Our team (Elizabeth, Divya, Leena, Natasha and Sneha) was working really hard for past couple of weeks with daily calls (especially after a busy school day) and its paid off. Their passion and commitment were to be appreciated and commendable. May God bless all your efforts moving forward. The time spent for God is counted worthy (just count his blessings!!), that’s why David wrote in Psalms (84:10)
“Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked”
The book we studied was Acts of Apostles. There is so much to learn from the life of Paul (and other disciples). His whole life (after conversion) was a sweet and fragrant offering to the Lord. We ought to follow that example and live a life pleasing in the sight of Lord!!
“Attempt great things for God, expect great things from God” – William Carey
Prayers and Regards,
The IMTC family will be volunteering in the LYNFYN (Love Your Neighbor, Feed Your Neighbor) Food Drive Project, starting from April 6 – April 12.
We need more volunteers to sign up.
LYNFYN is an interfaith organization/collaboration to help the poor and needy in the community through various food drives, collection and awareness. IMTCVA is a member of the group and we will be leading a food drive collection at the Giant near CLC. From April 6-April 12. LYNFYN will provide cards with recommended items to give to shoppers so they can buy those items and give it to us. We will then give total to food pantry of our choice, which is link. So, we have time slots so that our members can volunteer to stand there and help passing out cards and creating awareness.
Pleasee see the final stats mentioned below:
We have surpassed our 3000 lbs target by far. Let me break it down for you
1. Six days of volunteering (35 hrs of volunteering)
2. Four different locations (3 major Grocery chains- Giant, Safeway & Shoppers)
3. Families participated – 23
4. Food collected and delivered to LINK pantry (3454 items amounting to 4122 lbs)
More than the food collected, I value the experience we had by interacting with the community. I am sure everyone had their own experiences to cherish. In addition, the commitment to work together for a common cause helped us to spread the Christian way of life to others.
I am positive that everyone who donated food had a similar experience to share in their homes.
Thank you once again and I will send out an email to all families who have participated and devoted time for a good cause to the community.
