Dear IMTC Family,
This year we are pleased to announce that we will be participating in
Love your neighbor, Feed your neighbor (LYNFYN) food drive
LYNFYN is a partnership effort by multiple, local, faith based ministries to feed those who are food insecure (a person does not know how they will get their next meal) in Loudoun County through this food drives.
Though many give generously to area food banks during the holidays, most of those donations have been distributed by now. This spring food drive is to help replenish pantry shelves going into summer. This food drive goes to replenishing 13 food pantries including LINK food pantry.
This year we will be participating in LYNFYN in two ways:
1. Congregational Food Drive (April 24th)
Families are asked to bring in donations that are needed for the food drive.
Food items will be collected as part of the Love Offertory on April 24th.
Every family will be given reusable shopping bags which will be used from now on to collect Love Offertory.
A list of items are attached with this email.
2. Grocery Store Food Drive (May 2nd-May 7th)
As was done last year, volunteers will be asking customers of Giant Food stores to donate items needed for the LYNFYN food drive. This year we will be visiting Giant stores in South Riding, Sterling, Ashburn. A sign up sheet will be sent out in a following email.
All your participation is kindly requested to make initiatives a success.
TOGETHER WE CAN FEED THE NEED
