2016 Lenten Devotional

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I pray that you are all doing well by His grace. Today begins the very first day of the Great Lent (Valiya Nombu). It is a great opportunity to grow closer in faith and commitment to our Lord and God. It is also a time when we remember the awesome love that brought Christ to the cross for our sins. It is important that you all as a family sincerely take part in Lent through fasting, prayer and meditation. Remember, God is reaching out to us…let us hold on to Him!

This Lenten season, as a church, we will mediating on the Epistle of St. Paul to the Romans. Edavaka Mission will be reaching out to all our parish families to offer a brief devotion on a passage from Romans. Please sit together as a family, discuss the portion given and creatively with prayer prepare a devotion. May the Lord God bless us this Lent!

Introduction to Romans
The letter to the church in Rome was written by St. Paul in AD 57. It has deep theological undertones but, essentially focuses on the theme of righteousness both individually and within the redeemed faith community. This epistle is powerful and can help to transform and strengthen our faith. May the Lord God strengthen us all to grow in faith during this journey through the letter to the Romans.

Love and prayers,
Jaisen Achen
